Having traveled throughout the islands of the North Atlantic, and the Arctic, Matt McGee has developed a passion for capturing the essence of these cold and harsh landscapes.
Although his photography career began underwater in various oceans around the world photographing large pelagic animals such as sharks and rays, as well as smaller, more colorful, animals like fish, shrimp, and octopus,
over time he developed an interest in the unique landscape of Iceland. After his first visit to this other worldly island, he knew that his passion was exploring and photographing these harsh environments. He has sought out locations far off the beaten path, that are more wild and less explored. This led him to the Faroe Islands, and then to Greenland.
